Playstyle[]
Many 12 Zodiacs cards contain abilities synergistic with certain attributes from their respective worlds. For example, Mizune's ability to put itself into the soul of the player's item is similar to Armorknight's item-centric playstyle, while Suga's ability to return itself to the player's hand fits with Magic World's bouncing playstyle.
With the release of Dual Flag promo cards, players were given the ability to play all cards of a respective world alongside any 12 Zodiac cards. During this time period, more 12 Zodiacs that not did not see use. The most commonly-teched card was Suiga because of its ability to return itself to hand after it finished attacking.
12 Zodiacs as an attribute were finally unified with the release of the 12 Zodiacs flag card in ND-BT05, which also introduced the [Zodiac Gift] keyword. This was introduced alongside the deck's primary buddy, Princess of Galaxies, Almarch, which gave its name to every 12 Zodiac monster, allowing Buddy Calls to be done with any 12 Zodiac monster in the deck and essentially guaranteeing a Zodiac Gift every turn. This is used to achieve the flag's win condition of having twelve face up Zodiac Gifts under your Buddy at the start of your turn. In addition to the auto-win condition introduced by the flag, most 12 Zodiac support cards, especially spells, interacted with the Remove Zone, using it as a second hand of sorts where players could bring back cards that they were forced to remove for different costs.
