Counterattack

"Counterattack" (反はん撃げき Hangeki) is a keyword which allows a card possessing it to destroy an opponent's monster after it was attacked by that monster, as long as the card with Counterattack is still on the field after the attack is finished and the attack was not nullified, and only if the attacking monster's defense is equal or lower than the power of the card with Counterattack.

Rulings

• Counterattack is an ability which destroys a monster, it is NOT an attack.
• If you use Counterattack after a Link Attack, you choose only one of the attacking monsters to destroy.
  • When checking the defense for Counterattack, only the defense of the individual card is checked. The other cards in the link attack do not add their defense to the Counterattacked card.
