Ultimate Card

Ultimate Card (อัลติเมทการ์ด Ultimate Card) is a classification of cards for Buddyfight New Drive. It is introduced in ND Trial Deck 4: Braves Explosion.

The Ultimate Zone is located at the area unofficially regarded as Set Spell Zone prior to New Drive.
Ultimate Cards are stored in the Ultimate Zone, separate from the main deck. A player may prepare up to 8 Ultimate Cards in their Ultimate Zone at the beginning of each fight, and the 4-copy-per-name rule applies.
Although it has not yet been specified whether the cards in the Ultimate Zone are put face-down at the beginning of the fight, it can be assumed that such is the case, due to the ruling that they return to the Ultimate Zone face-down when returned to the hand or deck.

Ultimate Cards are not an individual card type, but rather are combined with other types (eg. Ultimate Monsters) as a "classification" of sorts. Thus, until specified otherwise, it should be assumed that all Ultimates are regarded as both Ultimate cards and their associated card type.
- Ultimate monsters are regarded as both, and can be targeted by any card abilities that specify to "choose monster".
- Ultimate spells are both ultimate and spells, and so forth for all remaining card types.

An Ultimate Card has an Ultimate Condition which must first be fulfilled before playing the card, functioning identically to Release Condition!
- When such conditions are met, the player then pays any costs to the card, if any.
- Once the Ultimate Condition has been fulfilled, Ultimate Cards can also instead by played via the ability of other cards.
  - For example, Legendary Warrior, Gao (Ultimate), although possessing a [Call Cost], can also be played via Fledging Warrior, Ocker Glaser's Buddy Gift, which allows the cost to be ignored.
An Ultimate Card is affected by any ability that would apply to a card, functioning according to the rules as mentioned above the Functioning section.
- If an Ultimate card would be destroyed, it is put into the drop zone.
- If an Ultimate Card would be returned to hand or deck, it is returned to Ultimate Zone face-down.

"(Triggered)" refers to Ultimate Cards that have specific play timings, and which can only be triggered, as oppose to "normal" Ultimate Cards which can simply be played from the Ultimate Zone once their conditions have been fulfilled.
